5 Ways to Manage Stress When Trapped Indoors!

Hey Friends! 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾

😲 WOW!  Kind of a lot has happened over the last month!  I went from taking my daughter to school, hitting the gym 🏋🏾‍♀️, attending school myself and, in general, staying busy to not leaving my house for an entire week!  How quickly the world 🌎 and everything around us has changed!  And because things have changed so quickly, many of us are left unprepared for the emotional fallout of those changes.

What could that fallout possibly look like?  Perhaps you're sleeping 💤 more than necessary?  Perhaps you are a bit (or more than a bit) irritable.  Perhaps you are feeling stressed, worried or depressed?  Or perhaps you know of, or live with someone who is going through the 🦋 emotions (which reminds me that I have two people I need to check on).  Here are 5 ways you can combat those emotions.

1️⃣  Focus on being grateful.  🙌🏽 There is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.  You just have to find it and stay focused on it.

2️⃣  Meditation and prayer.  🙏🏽 As much as we love to believe that we have everything under control, the truth is, we do not.  However, connecting with God assures us that he IS in control and that we can rest in that understanding.  Take time to meditate, pray and journal.  Who knows, this may be the beginning of your new 📚 book.

3️⃣  Use essential oils.  🧘🏽‍♀️ I know it sounds crazy, but they do actually work.  Many grocery stores now carry small vials of lavender, orange, lemon, mint, patchouli and a few others.  These are all you need but feel free to grab any others you find.  Use these in any combo focusing on lavender for calmness, citrus for a happiness boost, mint for alertness and patchouli for anxiety.

4️⃣  Tackle your to-do list!  👩🏼‍🎨Now is the time to clear out that closet you've been meaning to get to.  Remember that sewing machine you bought?  Remember that jewelry making kit you bought?  Now's the time to get creative with it.

5️⃣  Get up and get moving.  🏋🏽‍♀️ This one is difficult because if you find yourself down, it's hard to get moving but you must.  Once, you do, you'll feel better.  I promise.  Here are some resources but there are many, many others on YouTube.
